USA Holiday - Magic Kingdom - Part 3

Before we start, there's one thing I need to fix up. There was a very special photo that unfortunately did not make it into the photobook, so here it is!



Now on with the rest of the blog...

We're back to Magic Kingdom again! Because this park is so big we had to spend several days there. This time we were there for our very hard to get dining reservations at Be Our Guest restaurant which is located within the Beast's castle. We also went on a few more rides and saw the spectacular daily fireworks show (although we had to stand in the rain!)

USA Holiday - Breakfast & Shopping

In between our park visits we decided on a change of pace with a special breakfast and some shopping. This video sums up the day (click here if you can't see video)


We started the day with a character breakfast at Disney's Polynesian Resort. This was a special breakfast where many of the Disney characters come around to visit you while you eat!











After a big breakfast our first stop was at the Orlando International Premium Outlets. We all found some good bargains. Jack even managed to find a Toys R Us to explore.





After the outlet mall we decided to visit Disney Springs for a look around and something to eat. Disney Springs is considered the shopping district of Disney World and there were a lot of things to see.































We ate some good American food.



We visited the Coca Cola shop. Who would've thought they could fill a 3 storey store full of Coca Cola products? We also went to the rooftop to try the tasting boards full of soft drinks from all over the world.

























Disney Springs also had its own huge Lego shop (yes that dragon is Lego!) and we did a little bit more shopping before heading back to the resort.

USA Holiday - Magic Kingdom - Part 2

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

We returned to the Magic Kingdom for a special halloween party. With treat stations setup all over the park, we did our best to bring in a big haul of lollies. Tim and Emma ventured all over the park until midnight! We also saw the special 'Boo to You' parade and the halloween fireworks.

USA Holiday - Magic Kingdom - Part 1

After accidently sleeping in and being woken by room service, we hopped onto a Disney bus to visit  the Magic Kingdom. This is one of the most popular parks in the USA and it showed - there were a lot of people! Luckily we had fast passes booked and got to go on several rides including the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. You can see that a lot of the park is decorated for halloween, even the Mickey heads are pumpkins.

We visited this park several times so stay tuned for more!

Some photos of our time at the park. Fortunately there are Disney photographers all over the park so there was always an opportunity for all of us to be in photos!

Merry Christmas

The day finally came! Another Christmas is here and it was very exciting. To get in the festive mood we went into the city to get a look at the Christmas lights which you can see in the video. Only a couple of days after that and it was Christmas day. I was very lucky to get many cool things that I wanted.

USA Holiday - We've Arrived!

After much anticipation, the day had come. Finally our trip to the USA had begun. With a delay in departing Sydney and a missed connecting flight in Dallas, it took us a while to finally get to Orlando.

Fortunately I was getting pretty good at waiting.









We eventually checked into Disney's Art of Animation Resort at 1:30am! As you can see there was no one around at that time.



We stayed in the Cars section of the resort and it certainly felt like we'd been transported to Radiator Springs.

The waffles had Cars characters on them.



The resort area looked like a scene from the movie.






































These guys were from the Finding Nemo part of the resort. Occasionally you can hear them all yelling out "Mine, mine, mine!".




The pool was really good. It even had music playing under the water.

Christmas is Coming!

Now that Christmas is just over a week away, we thought it would be a good time to go and check out some of the good Christmas lights in the area. While we were in Caringbah for Emma's school presentation (she did really really well by the way!), we stopped in to see a special street with some amazing Christmas lights. It was like the whole street was battling against each other.
